This site by Jonathan Fields describes how he compared a bowl of regular heavy cream whipping cream to a bowl of Cool whip. He whipped the whipping cream and it melted in about an hour, but the Cool Whip lasted for 12 days apparently.


If you’re going to have pie/cake/whatever and need a creamy topping (and aren’t vegan or lactose intolerant), this could convince you to just go for the real thing, or go without or top your desserts with something else. If the real stuff melts while the Cool Whip doesn’t, imagine how it’s going to be in your body!

Day one, Cool Whip in a bowl.

Day 12… Same Cool Whip in the bowl hardened to the point you can draw a face on it.
